  • Passes Erie and breaks Victor Carlstrom’s record.
  • Lands on racetrack in Hornell with empty gas tank at 2:10 p.m., establishing new American non-stop record (512 miles).
  • Takes off from Hornell at 3:24 p.m. and barely clears the trees.
  • Lands on farm in Binghamton at 4:20 p.m. unable to continue in dark.
